Artist Spotlight: San Serac

Our old friend, San Serac is doing big things these days! In an age when affordable music gear and virtual studio technology has made-common music whose depth and range of expression can be measured in mouse clicks, more credence should be lent to artists like Boston-based singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Nat Rabb (San Serac).

His own style of new-wave synth-pop mashed with electro-R&B can't help but bring Prince, Chromeo, Midnight Star, & Pet Shop Boys to mind.

He's been called “the closest thing to David Bowie the current dance scene has”.

Hailing from Somerville, he’s played in and around Boston for years, particularly at dance parties like Hearthrob in Cambridge and Pop! in Providence. Since those days, he has come a long way.

Rabb produces his own material, playing the instruments and releasing music on his own label — Frogman Jake. He has distribution deals with labels in Japan and Canada.

In addition to a successful U.S. tour with Junior Boys, Rabb has had fruitful collaborations with ex-Junior Boy Johnny Dark (Stereo Image), Michaelann Zimmerman (the Internet), and French electronic producer Para One (Slice and Soda)

His 2009 EP, 'Music Never Ends' was released on Morgan Geist's respected dance music label Environ. And in 2010 released a comprehensive 10 track album, 'No Twilight', via Frogman Jake.

No Twilight is available at most digital outlets
including this one.

DANGER IS HIS FIRST NAME...

*****

Influenced by video games and films from the '80s and '90s, French electronic musician, Franck Rivoire aka Danger, blends retro synths and modern production techniques to create a distinct sound that characterizes his musical productions. He also brings a strong visual appeal to his work, as shown in his live appearances and self-made promotional artwork.
badass.

Skrillex

Still working on a decent way of streaming the tracks so you can listen before you download. Also, of course, if you like the music you should go buy it on Beatport.com or iTunes or whatever ;)
Another amazing remix by the unstoppable and somehow not yet annoying, Skrillex. Warning: This track will get stuck in your head.
